D-Facto Filmstudio owner Michelle Paymar is an award-winning independent filmmaker and a producer, director, and writer for documentary and non-fiction television programs. 

Her work has aired on NBC, ABC, PBS, CBC, MTV, CTV, CNBC, Travel Channel, Discovery International, TLC, and other major broadcasters and screened at film festivals around the world.

Paymar's assignments have spanned the globe, encompassing a wide range of genres and subjects including news and current affairs, history, wildlife, human rights, environmental issues, health, popular culture, business, film, travel, music, and more. 

She received an MFA in Film Directing from the American Film Institute, a BA from the University of California, Berkeley,  and is a member of the International Documentary Association and Women in Film.
